The alternatives typically involve plastic, too, which is also hygienic while having the added benefit of being a bit more lightweight and being less of a risk should the worst happen. Plastic is easier to break in to than steel, after all, even if either material might still warrant an embarrassed A&E trip if things go horribly awry.
The NoPacha Adjustable Locking Chastity Belt Genium comes with a storage bag, but I genuinely believe that this is the weakest element of the device.
